How do I remove vocals or split a song into stems with Sonilo?
Short answer
Sonilo has three free song tools: the vocal remover and acapella extractor split a song into vocals and instrumental, and the stem splitter splits it into vocals, drums, bass and other. Splitting, listening and downloading the separated tracks are free on every plan with a Sonilo account, and use no credits.
The tools
| Tool | What you get |
|---|---|
| Vocal remover | Instrumental and vocals |
| Acapella extractor | Vocals and instrumental |
| Stem splitter | Vocals, drums, bass and other (everything that is not a voice, a drum or the bass) |
Lead and backing vocals stay together on the vocal track.
Limits
- Files: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG songs, or MP4, MOV and M4V videos.
- Length: at least 5 seconds, and up to 10 minutes on every plan (longer if your plan's length is longer).
- How many: up to 10 jobs a day across all the audio tools, one at a time.
- Cost: no credits, and the separated tracks download on every plan.
Removing music from a video
To take the music out of a video and keep the voice, use remove music, keep voice or remove background music. These take video only, up to your plan's length, and export an MP4.
Results
Finished jobs are saved in your Library, which opens them again in the tool.
