Licensing FAQ

Can I distribute Sonilo music to Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services?

Short answer

No. Releasing a generated track as a record through a distributor to Spotify, Apple Music, or other streaming services and stores is not part of any Sonilo plan's license. Pro covers general commercial scoring — music under a video, an ad, a client deliverable, a monetized channel, or an indie game — and Premium adds film, television, broadcast, and studio games, with no attribution. Free and Creator output is personal and non-commercial.

What the license does cover

  • On Pro and above: music and sound effects used in monetized videos, paid ads, sponsored and branded content, client deliverables, apps, websites, and indie games.
  • On Premium and above: also film, television, broadcast, and studio games.
  • On Free and Creator: personal, non-commercial use only.

What it does not cover

  • Releasing a generated track on its own — as a single, an album, or a store listing — through a distributor to Spotify, Apple Music, or other streaming services and stores.
  • Registering a generation with Content ID or a similar fingerprint system. Rights are non-exclusive, and another user could produce something similar.

Make something you can publish

Commercial rights start on Pro at $14.99 per month. Every generation on Pro and above comes with a certificate your client or platform can verify.
